Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 2, 2021
This Cookie Policy explains how Global Sticks Express, LLC, and our affiliates (collectively “GSE”, “we”, “us”, and “ours”) use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our owned and operated websites (“Sites”). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, GSE) are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. Advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites. If you would like to learn more about cookies in general you can visit Cookiepedia.
How do we use cookies?
Operational services on our Sites
GSE uses cookies to function effectively and to authenticate your authority to access our Sites. For example, cookies allow us to display relevant content, provide advertising, and enhance your online experience. We do not use cookies to collect or record information such as your name and address. Cookies and web beacons help us track the usage of our Sites in order to improve the Sites according to our customers’ needs. We use information we obtain through the use of cookies to enhance our products and services, such as by learning which content is popular and customize the materials we provide to you based on your online interests and preferences. We may also use cookies to collect statistical information about how visitors use the Sites, so we can improve the way the Sites work. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. Unless you have adjusted your browser settings so that it will refuse cookies, cookies will be set when you access the Sites.
GSE Ads
We may engage third-party publishers, ad networks, and service providers to deliver our own ads. We and these third parties may set cookies on your computer or device or use the technologies described below to gather information about your activities on our Sites and other Sites or mobile applications. For example, if you visit our Sites and then visit another website, you may see a GSE ad on that website. This is often referred to as “retargeting.” The information we collect from cookies and other technologies discussed below that are placed on your device from visiting our Sites is not used with any of our programmatic technology platforms (collectively, the “platform”).
Third-party Advertisers
Our platform helps third party advertisers, publishers, ad networks, and service providers deliver their own ads and ads for others. These third parties may set cookies on your device or use other technologies to gather information about your activities and then serve ads that may be relevant to you based on the information they have collected about you. The placing of these cookies and other technologies on your device may enable you to be identified across multiple websites and mobile devices. We do not control those third parties’ practices.
Why do we use cookies?
We use first party and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Sites to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. Other cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Sites. Third parties serve cookies through our Sites for advertising, analytics and other purposes. This is described in more detail below. The specific types of first and third party cookies served through our Sites and the purposes they perform are described in the table here.
What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?
Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website. We, our service providers, and third-party advertisers and advertising service providers using the platform may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are small pieces of code that can be embedded on Sites, and can be used to learn how you interact with a website. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Sites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies and to improve site performance. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
Do you serve targeted advertising?
Third parties may serve cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our Sites. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other Sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services that you may be interested in. They may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements. This can be accomplished by them using cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services of potential interest to you. The information collected through this process does not enable us or them to identify your name, contact details or other personally identifying details unless you choose to provide these.
How can I control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences by clicking on the appropriate opt-out links provided in the cookie table above. you can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our Sites, though your access to some functionality and areas of our website may be restricted. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information.
In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. Opting out from an advertiser will not, however, automatically opt you out of receiving targeted ads from our platform, nor from receiving ads. To opt out of targeted ads from our platform, you may go here. We do, however, require advertisers and publishers with whom we partner to inform us if you opt out of receiving their ads so that we do not continue to send you those ads from our platform. The opt-out mechanisms referenced herein set cookies through a browser on your computer or device to signal that you have opted out; if you clear your cookies, or access from a different browser on the same computer or device, or from another computer or device, you will need to opt out again in order to set another opt out cookie.
You may opt out from the collection and use of data for targeted advertising through a mobile application on a mobile device by using the opt out features of your device or through the settings function on your mobile browser or device. These are typically located in the settings menu on your device.
You can opt-out of each cookie category (except strictly necessary cookie) by clicking on the "cookie settings" button below:
How often will you update this cookie policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please therefore re-visit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies. The date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last updated.
